Ornamental Plants

Some ornamental plants used for body decorations (minong ba marmar) in Rabaul during various traditional activities. Tagete is used frequently to make pendants (midal) and pur. The tigil and lomo are also used for other purposes such as in making ku.

  1. Ravian Ismael, do you think Tolai people would read more literature if it was written in Kuanua?

That is a tough one, but in general i think they will. However, it may depend on the subject. Music is popular among the old and young. History now is becoming very popular for the general public and school students. The Kuanua Hymn Book is in demand and of course the Bible. Dialect was a problem in the past and still to some extent today. And i think if the dialect used in the Bible is used in publishing literature in Kuanua, that may minimise understanding of dialect variations.

In the last sentence on my reply "understanding" should be misunderstanding.
